1978: University of California at Davis

Graduated with Honors and a BS degree in Animal Science.

1979: United States Peace Corps

Taught Animal Science at the Technological Institute of Kikwit in Bandundu, Zaire. Also taught basic Sciences including Math, Nutrition, Preventative Health Care, Chemistry, and Anatomy.

1980: Ranch Manager at McPhereson Ranch in Petaluma

Repaired and maintained a 220 acre ranch that had been out of use for several years, gave recommendations on erosion control and pasture management, dismantled old barn and supervised building of new one, trained horses, and advised owner on purchases of livestock to get ranch running (and profitable) again.

1981-85: University of California at Davis School of Veterinary Medicine

Four years of training in Medicine, including Anatomy, Physiology, Nursing Care, Surgery, Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Pharmacology, Nutrition, Behavior, Dentistry, GastroEnterology, Hematology, Breeding & Reproduction, Cytology, Microbiology, Body Chemistry, Jewels of Wisdom, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Laboratory testing, Internal Medicine, Radiology, Disease Recognition and Transmission Control, Parasite identification and control, Preventative Veterinary Medicine & Statistics, Immunology, and Zoonosis.  Graduated in 1985 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree.

1986: Lassen Veterinary Hospital

Worked with Dr. Thomas Pyle in a mixed Large and SmallAnimalHospital, alternating emergency care shifts for all of Lassen County, CA.

1987: Coddingtown Veterinary Clinic

Worked as a solo practitioner for Dr. Richard Seedman in a Small Animal Clinic caring for Dogs, Cats, Ferrets, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Hamsters, Gerbils, Chinchillas, Rats, Mice, and other mammals. Took over management and training of staff. Also worked part time relief for Dr. Seedman at Expressway Veterinary Hospital

1992: Purchased Coddingtown Veterinary Clinic

Responsible for pretty much everything, same as above.

1996: Set up the Veterinary Technician Alternative Program at SRJC

2000 - To Present: Expanding the scope of Coddingtown Veterinary Clinic to offer Holstic Medicine

Studied acupuncture via the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society.  Studing Traditional Chinese Veterinary Herbal Medicine via the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine.

Other Past and Present Animal Related Activities:

Co-Founded of Touch the Jungle Wild Cat Sanctuary, a rainforest project in Ecuador, South America.  Designed and taught classes for 5 years. Recruited other veterinarians to teach the courses so that the program could continue to run without me.
